What Tom is usually called out for
Older stone properties, sloping plots and rural gardens with more ground than one person can keep on top of. That is most of this part of North Somerset.
- LandscapingWhole gardens designed and built, from clearance and levelling through to planting, turfing and clipped hedging.
- PatiosIndian sandstone, slate and reclaimed stone laid on a proper base, with the falls set so water leaves the house.
- Retaining wallsRailway sleeper and dry stone retaining walls that hold a slope properly, with steps built into them.
- House maintenanceThe list of jobs a property builds up. Fencing, gates, roofs on outbuildings, sheds, repairs and the odd thing nobody else will take on.
- PlumbingWater mains renewed, stopcocks replaced, outside taps fitted and rainwater harvesting set up.
- ForestryOvergrown ground brought back. Scrub clearance, chipping, and orchards and woodland edges opened up again.
- Paddock maintenanceGrazing land, paddocks and large rural gardens kept on top of through the season.
Not sure if you are in range?
Put the postcode into the quote form and Tom will tell you straight away. If a job is too far out to be worth doing well he will say so rather than take it on and rush it.
Coverage questions
Does a quote cost anything?
No. Tom comes out, looks at the job and gives you a price, and there is no charge and no obligation for that. If the job is not worth doing the way you have described it he will tell you that too.
How far do you travel?
Roughly 20 miles from Winscombe, which covers Winscombe, Sandford, Banwell, Churchill, Axbridge and the villages between them, out as far as Clevedon. If you are near the edge of that, ask anyway, it is usually a yes for a job of a decent size.
Do you take on small jobs?
Yes, particularly close to Winscombe where there is no real travel on it. A gate rehung, a patio repointed, a fence panel put right. Further out a small job is harder to justify on its own, so it is worth grouping it with something bigger.
