Landscaping and property maintenance in Sandford

The next village along, barely a mile from the yard, on the A368 under the Mendip edge.

About 1.3 miles from Winscombe

The ground in Sandford

Sandford shares a parish and a postcode with Winscombe and sits about a mile north, on flatter ground where the Mendip slope runs out toward the moor. Flatter is easier to build on but harder to drain, so a patio here lives or dies on whether the falls were set before a single slab went down.

There is a wide spread of property, from older stone along the main road through to the newer estates and the retirement development. Newer plots tend to want the whole garden made, levelling, turf, borders and a hard surface to sit on. Older ones tend to want walls and paths put back.

Close enough that a callout is not really a callout. If something needs looking at, it is a five minute drive.

Questions from Sandford

Do you cover Sandford?

Yes. Sandford is about 1.3 miles from Winscombe in a straight line, well inside the 20 mile radius Tom works to.

Does a quote cost anything?

No. Tom comes out, looks at the job and gives you a price, and there is no charge and no obligation for that. If the job is not worth doing the way you have described it he will tell you that too.

Do you take on small jobs?

Yes, particularly close to Winscombe where there is no real travel on it. A gate rehung, a patio repointed, a fence panel put right. Further out a small job is harder to justify on its own, so it is worth grouping it with something bigger.

Is it you doing the work, or a team?

It is Tom Nyamunda. One person on the job from the first visit to the last barrow out, which is slower than a gang but it means the person who quoted it is the person who built it.
