Tom runs Tom's Landscaping & Property Maintenance on his own from Winscombe, working acrossNorth Somerset and the villages under the Mendips.
The work is deliberately broad. Landscaping and groundwork sit alongside paving, walling, plumbing and the running repairs a property builds up, because on most jobs those are not separate problems. A patio on a sloping garden needs a retaining wall behind it and the ground stripping first. A new water main means a trench, and while the trench is open the outside tap may as well go in.
Doing all of it means nothing sits waiting for the next trade to have a free week, and it means one person is answerable for how the whole thing turns out.
How Tom works
Groundwork before the pretty part
Most failed patios failed underneath, and most walls that bulge were never drained behind. The base, the falls and the drainage get done properly whether or not anybody will ever see them.
One person, start to finish
The person who quotes the job is the person on site and the person who clears up. There is nobody to hand you on to and nobody to blame.
An honest answer, including no
If a job needs a specialist, or a certificate Tom does not hold, he will say so and point you at who does. A job taken on that should not have been is worse than a job turned down.
The site left clean
Waste goes with him. Material that can be reused on site, like chip from clearance work, gets reused rather than tipped and replaced with something bought in.

Tom Nyamunda trades as a sole trader in England. Quotes are free and there is no charge for coming out to look at a job inside the usual working area.
Questions before you ring
Does a quote cost anything?
No. Tom comes out, looks at the job and gives you a price, and there is no charge and no obligation for that. If the job is not worth doing the way you have described it he will tell you that too.
How far do you travel?
Roughly 20 miles from Winscombe, which covers Winscombe, Sandford, Banwell, Churchill, Axbridge and the villages between them, out as far as Clevedon. If you are near the edge of that, ask anyway, it is usually a yes for a job of a decent size.
How quickly can you start?
It depends on what is already booked and on the weather, since most of this work is outdoors. Tom will tell you a realistic date when he quotes rather than a hopeful one, and if it slips you will hear it from him before you have to ask.
Do you take on small jobs?
Yes, particularly close to Winscombe where there is no real travel on it. A gate rehung, a patio repointed, a fence panel put right. Further out a small job is harder to justify on its own, so it is worth grouping it with something bigger.
Is it you doing the work, or a team?
It is Tom Nyamunda. One person on the job from the first visit to the last barrow out, which is slower than a gang but it means the person who quoted it is the person who built it.
What do you need from me before you can quote?
Your postcode, what you are trying to achieve and a couple of photographs if you have them. Photographs save a visit on the simple jobs and make the visit far more useful on the complicated ones.
How do I pay, and when?
Agreed with you before the work starts and set out in the quote. Larger jobs are usually staged so you are never paying a long way ahead of what has been built.
Is there VAT on top of the quote?
No. The price you are quoted is the price, there is no VAT added to it.
